DAY TWO: SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 10, 2022

BY GARY WASSNER

ONE/OF BY PATRICIA VOTO

One/Of by Patricia Voto is a modern New York collection of unique, bespoke pieces, utilizing reclaimed fabrics and findings. Sophisticated and easy, the silhouettes are extremely flattering. There is an obvious ambiance here that goes beyond the ordinary. A clear and consistent point of view defines each piece–casual elegance. Patricia is not afraid to let her women show some skin, but when she does the result is extremely tasteful.

From season to season she has managed to maintain continuity of style while displaying her ability to drape and cut in a unique manner. I am extremely impressed with her storytelling abilities. There is a sense of mystery surrounding her clothing. Each outfit feels private and personal. The clothing speaks a language of its own. Subtle yet seductive, One/Of accomplishes so much with each ensemble.

I’m hoping that Patricia Voto will be able to scale this company, while remaining true to her sustainable approach. There is no need to define her apparel’s singular narrative with words–she has the unique talent of being able to show us, rather than tell us all about it. I spoke with Patricia after the presentation. Her inspiration for this season was Jimi Hendrix. The colors, the layering, the bohemian vibe characterized every piece. And the show was of course at Electric Lady Studios.
