JULIE SPITALNICK
Executive Director,
Fashion & Luxury Collection at Hearst Magazines

Julie Spitalnick is the Group Executive Sales Director, Fashion & Luxury Retail at Hearst Magazines. Julie is responsible for managing integrated sales for the company’s fashion and luxury retail clients including LVMH, Kering, Saks, Chanel, Ralph Lauren to name a few. In this role she oversees a team to develop programs that take advantage of Hearst’s reach and audience across key verticals, while leveraging best-in-class content creation and brand integration capabilities. Hearst Magazines is comprised of 29 brands reaching over 60% of affluent adults, including Cosmopolitan, Esquire, ELLE and Harper’s Bazaar and pure-play digital brands including Delish.com. Julie focuses on selling strategic smart data-centric integrated programs across all platforms.

Julie has spent her career working across all categories of business in both domestic and global roles at the world’s most influential media brands including InStyle and Vogue, among others. She is a result driven executive level sales and marketing leader. Specialties include leading and motivating teams, critical thinking, social/ digital/ video/ voice/ AR/ data prowess, consultative client engagement and retention, go-to-market strategy, cross functional team communication and planning, business operations, and P&L management. She is comfortable in both start-up and mature organizations.

Julie is an accomplished Brand Marketing and Sales Executive and trusted client advisor with expertise building, reimagining, and championing transformational branding initiatives for global, iconic organizations. She has a strong reputation for building extensive relationships with consumer business and editorial leaders, navigating diverse stakeholder needs, and empowering high performance global teams with accountability to deliver results.

Julie graduated from Syracuse University with a Bachelor of Science in Human Development. As a sociable individual she enjoys traveling, and spending time with family and friends. She loves the culture of New York and has been living there with her husband and two children since she graduated from college.

MICHELE MIYAKAWA

Michele Miyakawa is a Co-Founder and Managing Director at Moelis & Company. Michele specializes in advising high growth consumer companies regarding capital raises and strategic alternatives including M&A. Michele has over 20 years of experience in the finance industry as both a banker and an executive, leading multiple banking and management roles at Moelis & Company, including COO of Global Advisory.

Prior to joining Moelis & Company, Michele worked at UBS Investment Bank where she advised clients on M&A, leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations and other equity and debt transactions. Before UBS, she was an investment banker at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette.

Michele holds a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and an M.B.A. from Harvard University. She served on the Board of Directors of Pacific Mercantile Bancorp and as a Board Member of the Hollywood Hills West Council.

KAREN YOUNG

Before opening The Young Group in 1999, Karen was Vice President of Marketing, Advertising, Product Development and Sales Promotion for Lancôme. Prior to that, she spent seventeen years at Estée Lauder, where she held a variety of executive positions, including Executive Director of Color Cosmetics.

Karen is an active board member of Fashion Group International. She is a certified personal trainer and nutritionist. Karen divides her time between New York and Paris, where The Young Group also has an office.

Since opening The Young Group, Karen has worked extensively in all categories of the cosmetic industry. She has developed concepts and products for RoC, Bath and Body Works, Neutrogena, e.l.f, Vichy and Oribe. Karen has worked on numerous established brands in the beauty category, including Christian Dior Beauté, Shiseido, Bumble & bumble, Dove and Paula’s Choice.

Karen is an adjunct professor at The Fashion Institute of Technology, teaching Product Development in the Master’s program in Cosmetic & Fragrance Marketing and Management.

KIMBERLY CARNEY

Kimberly Carney is the Founder and CEO of The Wires, three high-growth global B2B2C platform marketplaces: FashWire, GlossWire and CasaWire. Kimberly is an entrepreneur who is passionate about tech, supporting emerging brands, and a fierce advocate for both individual and company success. She is deeply experienced in building and growing successful businesses.

With over 20 years of experience in marketing for mobile and tech companies and 15 years in the multi-brand retail space, Kimberly has a unique perspective into fashion and beauty’s interplay of data and marketability. The drive to bridge the connection between technology, consumers and brands was the catalyst for Kimberly to launch FashWire. In 2018, she seized the opportunity in the fashion sector to connect fashion designers and consumers by leveraging technology in an innovative, low cost and scalable way. Kimberly combined her previous experience in tech with her retail knowledge and industry experience to develop a platform where emerging and established brands could co-exist in one space, providing
valuable data for the industry.

In addition to disrupting the fashion space, Kimberly launched into beauty in 2021 with GlossWire, a one-stop technology platform solution catering to emerging beauty brands. Kimberly was the 1st Place Winner for Women in Business in the 2021 for the International Trade Council’s Go Global Awards and won New Retail Concept for Fashion Group International’s 2021 Rising Star Award in 2021 She serves on the Board of Gifting Brands and most recently, FashWire won Best Fashion Marketplace in the 2022 Glossy Fashion Awards. Kimberly is also recognized by New York Fashion Tech Lab as an industry expert and by Authority Magazine as a female disruptor in technology. Most recently, Kimberly received the Entrepreneur of the Year Award at Fashion Group International’s 2023 Rising Star Awards. Kimberly holds an BA in Business Management and Marketing from Seattle University.

Kimberly is a rare mix of fashion, beauty, and tech with an entrepreneurial spirit. She has an innate talent to identify market needs and delivers on those needs through passion, vision, drive and authenticity. Simply put, she is a trailblazer within the retail digital sector.

BRADLEY HOROWITZ

Bradley Horowitz holds more than 25 years of strategic, sales, marketing, and management experience. He is
presently the Chief Executive Officer of MALIN+GOETZ. Over the past 6 years with the brand, Brad has scaled
the business globally into western Europe and key markets in Asia including mainland China, Singapore and
Korea. The brand’s current distribution spans 600+ locations across six continents, with over 25 retail stores and pop up locations, DTC channels, Amazon and premium wholesale retailers worldwide. Prior to joining, he served for six years as the President of Amorepacific, North America. In this role, he directed the company towards a significant growth trajectory and solidified Amorepacific Corporation as the leading K-Beauty skincare authority. Prior to joining Amorepacific, Horowitz was founder of BJH Consulting, where he served as an executive consultant for several of the beauty industry’s leading cosmetic and fragrance companies. Horowitz helped drive top and bottom-line results for these beauty brands by developing and executing strategic sales and marketing programs, in both domestic and international markets. Horowitz’s experience spans a multitude of marketing and sales positions throughout the cosmetics industry, including serving as Senior Vice President of Sales for the Designer Fragrance Division of L’Oréal USA, and Senior Vice President of Marketing for Clarins USA, Inc. He received a Bachelor of Arts from Syracuse University and Master of Business Administration in Marketing from Fordham Graduate School of Business.

Caroline also recently opened the first ScentFluence aroma design studio in the heart of Scarsdale, NY Village. Featuring a library of ambient scents and innovative diffusers Caroline has created a new retail paradigm that is delighting clients in stores and on line.

ScentFluence also premiered it’s new “ScentFluence SitDown” series this year. “ScentFluence SitDown” celebrates and highlights industry experts and scent influencers with in person and on-line interviews, interactive discussions with lots of show and share.

Caroline also co-founded ScentInvent Technologies LLC a new Scent innovation firm set to disrupt the fragrance industry with the introduction of new forms and SpartiScents a new fragrance brand that is launched at Walmart targeting the Gen Z consumer.

While building her collection of Scent related businesses Caroline has maintained at active consulting practice called BeautyFluence LLC in which she has provided marketing advisory services to many leading brands such as Sun Dial Brands, Co-creator of FARMACY, Product development for VERSED, Concept to launch for SOBEL SKIN Rx, and Dr. Woo and general consulting to The Organic Pharmacy and brand positioning for Boticario NativaSpa.

Caroline previously held senior management positions in the corporate beauty world.

Caroline served for 12 years at CLARINS as the Senior Vice President of Group Business Development for USA and served in variety of roles with expanding levels of responsibility throughout her tenure. Caroline oversaw the management of new brands and new channels of distribution for CLARINS Group and key strategic initiatives for CLARINS brand.

Prior to this Caroline was Senior Vice President of Marketing for CLARINS brand. During her years with with CLARINS, Fabrigas contributed to achieving and maintaining CLARINS top skin care ranking as well as garnering industry recognition for several best selling new products launches.

Caroline’s other positions include two years as Vice President of Global Retail Development for PRADA Beauty where she was part of the team that conceptualized, developed and launched Prada into the beauty segment. Caroline joined PRADA from CLARINS where she first served as Vice President, Education and Retail Services.

Prior to joining CLARINS, Fabrigas served as International Director of Training for Lancaster Group Worldwide and National Training Director for Terme di Saturnia and held a variety of executive positions related to sales and training at Lancôme.

Her career began in beauty working for Estee Lauder and CHANEL in business management and account coordinator roles.
