OUR HISTORY

In November 1956, the Toronto Chapter of The Fashion Group International began with a luncheon of high-profile women in the fashion industry, at the home of Dora Matthews, from Eaton’s fashion bureau.

The following March, the Toronto Chapter launched with a show and exhibit of couture fashion illustrating period styles and great dressmaking. The pieces were subsequently donated to the Royal Ontario Museum as a resource for Canadian designers. Since then, we have evolved into a fashion community of business entrepreneurs in fashion, beauty, interior design, photography, art beauty and film; helping our members to elevate, educate and empower themselves through our programs, events and professional network.
