“Women’s daily lives are busy enough without having to carry a heavy bag on top of that. Beyond their lightness, our apple canvas bags carry values of innovation & respect for the planet.” Says Guillaume, “Apple canvas has characteristics equivalent to animal leather: resistance, waterproofness & flexibility. This innovative material, tested at the “Centre technique du Cuir” in Lyon, meets the durability standards: resistance to friction & resistance to bending ideal for leather goods.”

Lafayette 148 New York

Designer: Emily Smith
FGI Former Board Member: Deirdre Quinn, Founder and CEO, Lafayette 148 New York

Lafayette 148’s Fall 2025 New York Fashion Week presentation took place on February 7th, presented at Studio 525 located in the heart of Chelsea’s art gallery district. On entering, the grandeur of the venue’s high vaulted wood beam ceilings was met with a unique presentation of the Fall collection displayed within an installation of the looms and the materials that translate the strength of the house’s dedication to artisanal craft. Crafted films were shown that explore the prowess of Creative Director Emily Smith’s atelier and design team. The presentation was accompanied by a vivid audio soundtrack of working looms—the key component of the season—woven together with a musical audio presentation by Miles Robbins.

Norma Kamali

Designer: Norma Kamali
FGI Member and FGI Night of Stars Honoree

The Norma Kamali collection has 3 key inspirations for FALL 2025:

1.) Masculine energy in women is powerfully in fashion… it is tough and cool.

2.) Nature, leaves and trees, and box plaid. The spiritual majesty of the forest to be protected and preserved. The prints can easily be translated and it’s a new camo option.

3.) Bob Dylan music biopic and the Rolling Thunder Scorsese film presents Dylan’s genius but also his style represented by many fedoras. The fedora and the idea of a hat worn with masculine / feminine cool says there’s more of a story to that person wearing the hat.
