Maria (Marisa) Luna,
Programming Director
Fashion Designer
I studied Fashion Design at Columbia College Chicago. Obtained a Bachelors in Communication Theory and Practice. Currently, working in the government sector.
The love for creativity is a journey I embarked at a young age; growing up, migrating to the United States, having a language barrier, finding the uniqueness of my soul; is how I found passion for fashion.
Through style, it is the means I utilized, to feel a stronger connection to my own identity; coming from an artsy, and colorful country, and through creative interactions. Learning needle work, crocheting, and sewing from various women of my family, all have given me the unique vision, and motivation to ignite that love, and share similar interests with the community.
Isa-Mari, is my brand, inspired by the journey of my life. In my opinion, the hardest thing in the world is to find out who you are, and once you know who you are, the hardest thing is to show the world, and go against all you’ve ever known: Think outside the box, be unique!
This is a journey of perseverance, a life full of challenges, a life of many learning experiences, the feeling of not having a voice, being quiet but still wanting to stand out, not knowing how. Wearing certain clothes can provide a sense of empowerment, allowing people to feel confident and to explore different personalities.
Through my passion for creativity, fashion, and styling techniques. My goal is to further my creative talents into the next level, in hopes, to one day, showcase my art to a new audience, other than myself- to inspire the next generation; empowering them, to continue utilizing style as a form of self -expression.
