Designer: Zaldy

Collaboration is at the heart of fashion’s evolution. The Auger x Zaldy collection brings together Zaldy’s singular creative vision with Auger in a collaboration that celebrates design, craftsmanship and the possibilities that emerge when creative and industry leaders, Dave and Leigh Anne Clark, come together. The runway collection was presented at the Chelsea Hotel this New York Fashion Week. Of his inspiration, Zaldy says:

“Sea brined mist pickles sails whipped across wind swept

waters. Swells beckon creaks and moans out of long worn boards.

A glimmer of light catches in the eye of the crow’s nest, its

glint calling sun bleached heads to attention.

Full speed ahead. Salt pruned madness at the wheel,

THEY’RE BACK! Monse’s Friday afternoon show atop the Domino Sugar Refinery in Brooklyn marked a brilliant return to the runway for the brand following creative directors Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia’s departure from Oscar De La Renta. 5pm… Sun beamed through the glass walls of the show space and Lily Allen’s rendition of “Somewhere Only We Know” play as the show opened with a multi colored trucker jacket crafted using the reverse side of a tulip embroidered fabric the designers created in Italy. What was particularly memorable was Kim and Garcia’s ability to remind the audience of how many “house codes” they’ve established in the decide since they’ve launched the brand. The asymmetry , mixed media, fringe, seductive reinterpretations of menswear and sheer florals we’ve all come to know and love from Monse were on full display, but in new and revolutionary versions. A denim fringe mini skirt paired with a ruched white tee was an audience favorite, as was a chocolate brown pinstripe tulle trench coat. A refreshing addition to the collection was a large range of evening wear which in years past seemed to be saved by the designers for the collections at Oscar De La Renta. An ombré feather midi dress in shades of melon to white garnered gasps from the front row as it walked onto the runway and at the end of the show, Garcia and Kim emerged to thunderous applause. They’ve made it clear… They’re just getting started. Monse. Fernando and Laura were honorees at the 2021 FGI Night of Stars.
