DAY THREE: SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 11, 2022

MARRISA WILSON

Marrisa Wilson designs a joyful collection! Looking at it generates happiness. That’s not easy to accomplish these days. Effortlessness is inherent in each outfit. Easy elegance is another way of characterizing the looks she has created over the years, since her inception in 2016.

Marrisa delivers the full package; fit, fabrics that breathe and move with the body, and of course, style. I love the playful feeling that her collection radiates. This season, she told me her emphasis is on embroidery, prints and fluidity. Novelty prints originally hand-painted went through many iterations before ending up on the runway. The collection is more elevated with some evening looks. But her desire is to dress her woman from day into evening. And the clothing is for a woman who is comfortable in her own skin. Not one who is trying to be something other than she is.

Marrisa gives her consumer the opportunity to express herself, using the clothing as a prop allowing her personality to shine through. Bold and vibrant colors don’t distract from the overall looks. They enhance them instead, adding punch to the product, resulting in something unique and appealing, and always eminently wearable. This is a designer deserving of a place in the creative community. She is one to watch.
