Meruert Tolegen is a designer with a future! This NY based fashion brand, founded by the designer Meruert Tolegen in 2018, infuses Kazakh cultural influences with traditional, European codes.
Family inspired her. Her childhood was spent with her grandparents in their home, where the surrounding architecture, interior geometrics and nature helped her cultivate a deep appreciation for broad themes of beauty. These influences have shaped the focus of her collections.
Utilizing handwoven fabrics, detailed embroidery, and modern cuts, she creates a panorama of beauty. Details and cultural storytelling are paramount. She doesn’t shy away from bold geometric shapes, sharp tailoring, and intricate trimmings — easy to wear yet fascinating.
She is one to watch!
